Pet tag law

Pet Tags provide identification for dogs, which meets UK legislation requiring dogs, in a public area, to be easily identified. The Control of Dogs Order 1992 dictates that a dog's name and full address has to be inscribed on its collar in order that it can be returned to its owner or reported for unsociable behaviour of some kind. It is possible to have your pet microchipped for identification purposes, however this is not a replacement for a Pet Tags. Microchips have to be read by specialist equipment supplied by a vet, which could deter people from coming to the aid of a lost pet. Pet Tags are the perfect answer as they provide identification that is easy to find and easily read.
